Kilde Medic Sensiometer / Biothesiometer X2

Biothesiometer, Sensiometer, or Vibrometer is an instrument designed to measure the threshold of perception of vibration in humans. Biothesiometer is used in neurology to identify peripheral sensory neuropathy and subjects at risk of foot ulcerations in diabetic patients, and erectile dysfunction, where the vibration perception threshold (VPT) would be higher than average.

Diabetes is the leading cause of neuropathy is the most common complication and the greatest source of morbidity and mortality in diabetes patients. Diabetic neuropathy which is not under control, is implicated in 50-75% of nontraumatic amputations, many of these amputations could have been avoided with due diligence.

Uncontrolled diabetes leads to lots of complications in diabetic neuropathy patients. Diabetic neuropathies are a family of nerve disorders caused by diabetes. People with diabetes can, over time, develop nerve damage throughout the body. Some people with nerve damage have no symptoms. About 60 to 70 percent of people with diabetes have some form of neuropathy. People with diabetes can develop nerve problems at any time, and the risk rises with age and longer duration of diabetes.

There are different ways to examine the degree of reduced sensation, such as neuropathy. The simplest test method is monofilaments, but with that method, you can’t determine the degree of neuropathy, only whether there is reduced sensitivity than normal. Tuning fork is another method, but also here, it’s almost impossible to determine the degree of sensitivity.

By using Kilde Medic’s Digital Biothesiometer / Sensiometer / Vibrometer, the degree of sensitivity can be determined with great accuracy, the value is measured between 0-50 Volts, which is the valuation of the vibration that the patient can feel, and therefore it is easy to follow the development of the neuropathy.

Kilde Medic Digital Biothesiometer / Sensiometer / Vibrometer is the absolutely preferred test instrument among a large number of hospitals and clinics in a large number of countries both in Europe and outside Europe. Our device offers absolutely precise measurement results and different ways of performing, as the only one on the market.

Listed below are some of the advantages of the digital biothesiometer:

  • Digital and step-less indicator from 0 to 50 Volts.
  • 3 funktions: Manual function and 2 automatic functions.
  • Test function in the handle so that it can be operated with only one hand, i.e. there is 100% focus on the patient and the probe is hold correct on the test point.
Electronic patient management. Patients can be offered their own remote control, which ensures a more accurate measurement.
  • Multiple operation mode (Plantar and Penile) software. (Supplied software has 2 programs, one for Plantar to test the sensitivity on the feet and Pernille to test the sensitivity on the penis.)
  • Integrated printer.
  • CE marked
  • No need for calibration or other service.
